EXCITING ANNOUCEMENT!

A New Strategic Partnership...
On November 16, 2004 the Peter F. Drucker Canadian Foundation and the Centre for Social Innovation confirmed a new strategic partnership for the delivery of the Peter F. Drucker Award for Canadian Nonprofit Innovation that will mutually support and celebrate social and nonprofit innovation in Canada.

The Canadian Drucker Foundation is committed to finding, recognizing and celebrating innovation among Canadian nonprofit organizations, and to inspire others to action. After a year of reflection and assessment, the Foundation is bringing some significant changes that will enable the Foundation to build substantial growth on an already successful eleven-year history.

"By combining our different strengths and programs, our intent is to increase the innovative capacity for non-profit leaders to build the practice of innovation into their living and working environments," says Dawn Ralph, Executive Director and Cofounder of the Peter F. Drucker Canadian Foundation.

The Centre for Social Innovation is a newly created hub - a nexus of new ideas, approaches, people, strategies and tools that are coalescing to advance our social, cultural, environmental and economic well-being. Working with both emerging and established social innovators, The Centre for Social Innovation is providing practical support to social innovators, with a particular focus on supporting collaboration within the sector.

"Through our strategic alliance with the Canadian Drucker Foundation, we gain access to a valuable tool to both profile excellence in the sector and to educate and engage the community to explore cutting edge ideas that further the public good," says Tonya Surman, Executive Director of the Centre for Social Innovation.

The two organizations will be re-launching the award with the support of Ashoka www.ashoka.ca in the spring of 2006, after taking some time to reflect on the current program, the community needs and the opportunities for the future.
