ARBI's "Outreach" Program is designed to provide a brain injury rehabilitation program to low functioning traumatically brain injured individuals across the country where no other programs of this nature exist. ARBI's "Outreach" program is modelled after the ARBI "On-site" program.
The program consists of an initial assessment of the client and an individually written and video taped program specifically tailored to the client's individual needs. The program is designed to be carried out by volunteers, family members or care givers and maintains contact and offers support to clients, families, and volunteers on a regular basis. Clients are reassessed and programs updated and video taped on a biannual basis.
ARBI offers a handbook at a nominal fee for volunteers working with brain injured adults entitle "Pathways to Recovery." This handbook is written to give hope and confidence to those people who must face the consequences of a relative, loved one or friend who has suffered traumatic brain injury, and those dedicated individuals who assist in the rehabilitation process.
Pathways to Recovery is directed towards families and volunteers, and aspires to give special help during those occasions when time and patience seem to be running out.
