The KidSport Fund's mission is to overcome the financial obstacles that prevent some disadvantaged young people from playing sport. Sport challenges can teach children the value of leadership, desire, planning, practice, hard work, honesty, sacrifice, dedication, positive thinking and self-confidence. The 80 provincial sport organizations which Sport B.C. represents wish to ensure sport remains accessible to financially disadvantaged children.
Sport B.C. covers administrative costs through support from sponsors and other sources, so that 100 percent of the funds contributed to the KidSport fund will be available for allocation to the children who need it. In two years, a total of $100,000 has been raised.
