The goal of United Nations World Water Day in Canada is to instil an awareness of the importance of water in our everyday lives, to promote the need to protect and conserve this valuable resource and, as part of a global community, to make a commitment to use water wisely and efficiently.
To achieve its goals partners were identified and solicited to assist in the coordination, interactive exhibits were developed, and public information to demonstrate water use efficiency was made available.
To achieve the highest possible profile for United Nations World Water Day in Canada, WaterCan worked with numerous other organizations. It chose shopping malls as an effective means of reaching a sizable population. It succeeded in providing a meaningful experience for visitors who had an ideal opportunity to see, hear, touch and learn about United Nations World Water Day and the message of more efficient water use practices.
