The Lincoln County Board of Education Elementary Instrumental Music Program has made it possible for many children to acquire an enriched musical education in an interesting and pleasant way, at a minimal cost to parents. Each student receives two lessons weekly (one during school hours of between 30 and 45 minutes, and one after school for 1 hour).
The program is available to all elementary school students of the Lincoln County Public School Board. Weekly instruction is given in strings, winds, brass and percussion, and each student participates in one after-school ensemble. Through this arrangement, the Board of Education still finances the salary of one half-time consultant to administer the program, the overhead of the administration through the Board office and the upkeep of instruments and music.
The fees paid by the parents of music students come to the Symphony through the Board of Education. The Association hires and pays the teachers based on their hours as submitted by the Music Consultant.
